🕊️ True Baptism is in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ!
“Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”— Acts 2:38
💧 An act of faith and obedience
Baptism is not just a religious ceremony. It represents an act of faith and obedience to God's Word , a public testimony of repentance and a new spiritual birth.
The word “baptism” comes from the Greek baptízō , which literally means “to dip” or “to submerge” — and that is exactly how Jesus was baptized in the Jordan River.
“And when Jesus was baptized, he went up straightway out of the water...” — Matthew 3:16
Biblical baptism has always been by immersion , symbolizing the burial of the old man and the beginning of a new life with Christ.
✝️ One Name for salvation
Throughout the Bible, baptism was administered in one Name only: the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ .
In the days of the apostles, no one was baptized by repeating titles like “Father, Son, and Holy Spirit,” but by invoking the Name that is above every name—JESUS .
“For there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”— Acts 4:12
📖 The example of the first Christians
All the baptism records in the book of Acts show the same apostolic pattern:
Acts 2:38 — “Be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ”
Acts 8:16 — “They were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus”
Acts 10:48 — “He commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord”
Acts 19:5 — “They were baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus”
The apostles understood the command of Matthew 28:19 —to baptize “in the name” (singular)—and recognized that the revealed Name of the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is Jesus .
🌊 Buried with Christ
“Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too might walk in newness of life.”— Romans 6:4
Baptism is the symbol of spiritual burial , where the old man is left behind, and a new life begins—now guided by the Holy Spirit.
📖 TESTIMONY OF THE RESTORED MESSAGE
“Peter had the keys of the Kingdom. And on the day of Pentecost, he opened the
door and told you exactly how to enter: 'Repent and be baptized
in the Name of Jesus Christ'. And that is the only way God
recognized ever since.” -William Branham, The Ephesian Age
“There is not a single man in the Bible who was baptized in the titles
of Father, Son and Holy Spirit. All were baptized in the Name of the
Lord Jesus Christ, because Father, Son and Holy Spirit are not names,
are titles.” -William Branham, Conference with God
🙏 Today's invitation
True biblical baptism remains the same: ➡️ By immersion in water , ➡️ For repentance and forgiveness of sins , ➡️ And carried out in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ .
“There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism.” — Ephesians 4:5
🕊️ Conclusion
If you haven't yet been baptized according to the Scriptures, today is the time to obey the Word and experience the true transformation that comes from God. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.
